Can televisions cause radiation cancer?
Hi. I know this may sound crazy, but my Grandma's TV broke the other day and it gave off a really bad smell. You could smell it all the way to my room. Is it possible to get radiation cancer or high levels of radiation in your body? Thanks.
Ringing ears, sounds like an old television.. please help!?
For the past three days I've had a ringing sound in my ears. It sounds just like the high pitched static noise that old televisions make when turned on. I have very bad sinus problems, just had a severe sinus infection and was put on antibiotics for ten days, today being day thirteen so I've been off them for three days. I first noticed the ringing late at night after I had taken my last day of antibiotics. I forget about it at some times throughout the day when I'm in class or watching a movie. I sometimes think that it's just in my head and I'm imagining it. I know tinnitus is a real thing but I sometimes wonder if I'm just remembering the ringing noise and not actually hearing it. I went to the doctor and he told me that it looked like I had wax in my ears, and that I no longer appeared to have a sinus infection, but put me on another round of antibiotics to be sure. Again, I've been experiencing this for three days on and off, and I don't know if I'm simply not focusing on it or if the problem actually eases up at certain times throughout the day.If you enjoy helping people, feel like comforting me, are a doctor, have a parent that is a doctor and are a caring person and want to go get them, or HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS and want to tell me IT'S NOT JUST IN MY MIND, please let me know. I am very scared and worried. Thank you all in advance.
Am I the only person who can't sleep with television/environmental noise in the background? White noise is OK.?
I just want to know if I am like the only person in the world that has trouble sleeping through environmental sounds like televisions and people talking. I do have some learning differences and one of them has a typical characteristic of super sensitive senses my hypersensitivities are taste, touch, and hearing . It is odd I am not able to go to sleep with these noises present, but " white noise," which includes sounds like ocean waves, rain falling, wind blowing, and other basic steady noises, are all things I can easily sleep through. In fact, it helps if I have a fan running in the bedroom at night, because this blocks out noises like the house settling, cracking, creaking, popping, and other family members running a TV.Any time I watch TV, it does just the opposite to me as opposed to what it does to my family. I get really wired and awake I'm the one that stays up and watches the whole movie, while the whole couch full of people are zonked out 15 minutes into the movie.I just want to know if I am like the ONLY person out there that is disturbed by noise and needs it QUIET at night, or if there is someone else out there like me who requires a quiet environment or one with white noise . Also, does television put YOU to SLEEP, or does it jack you up and make you alert like it does to me?Please feel free to answer all of the above.I've been like this all of my life and it seems I may not be the only one. If there's anybody else out there like that, please speak up... Your input is appreciated.
