Reliable cb radio information
How many watts are rated for this particular cb radio antenna?
I'm trying to find how many watts are rated for the radio shack antenna that is 48" long. It is catalog number 210 0973 which can be found on the web. No number of watts is specified. I have a cobra 29 with a fat boy amplifier. The amp puts out 200 watts rms and 600 watts pep.This setup will not be used within the jurisdiction of the FCC to be clear.

is the 27 mhz cb band still used and popular in england.. And europe?? Since the new cycle is starting up for sunspots on its 11 year cycle what modes are used?? I heard that FM.. and some AM is there.. But SSB single sideband is very illegal..? And all of their antennas are small to prevent any long distance contacts? What would cause a cb radio to pop loudly when turning on?
I have a connex cb radio that is acting funny. When you turn it on it pops loudly with static and slowly fades down to a normal level. Also sometimes while listening to a friend talking less than 50 yards away, his voice starts to fade away until I tap the bottom of the cb, then it comes back very clear and loud. I have opened it up twice now looking for a short or broken circuit, but all looks good. Would this be the amp going out? Or a faulty volume knob?
Is a ham radio or cb radio good for emergencies?
If there is a natural disaster or man made disaster where cell phones and land lines are knocked out, will a ham radio or cb radio still work? What are their advantages? Thanks
Can someone help with a couple cb radio issues?
I recently just got a Midland International CB radio from a friend. Whenever I plug the microphone into it's Jack, the radio speaker starts to hum. When you push the key to talk, it stops which makes sense, but as soon as you release it, it starts to hum again. Any help is appreciated

Help with my cobra 19 plus cb radio?
I bought a cobra 19 plus cb radio. Since it was set up for use in a car, i tried to hook it up to my wall outlet. when i plugged it in, I heard a loud pop and some smoke came out of it. I took it apart but there was nothing out of the ordinary with the internal parts. it all looked fine. What could have caused it to pop and all the smoke.

CB radio interference with Car PA system?
I installed a PA system into my Jeep a few weeks ago and just put a midland CB radio in also. The problem is, when both the pa and the cb are hooked up and everything, when i talked into the cb, it will come out my pa, sometimes loud, sometime not as loud. They both uses different mics and the pa is not one you can plug into a cb radio. is there some filter i could run maybe the pa wire through or someway to change its frequency? or any other solutions to the problem. 27mhz Cb Radio tuning?
I just placed a pre tuned antenna to my cb radio. I doubled checked the signal strength with a SWR meter and on channel 1 I got a reading below 1.5. But on channel 40 I got a reading above 3.0. Do I need to tune this antenna more or are those readings ok to transmit on?
