Are lens shades and lens filters very important for lenses? Do they effect clarity? If yes then how much?
What in your view are the best filters.?
I am awaiting delivery of a Sigme 10 20 f3.5 lens and am wondering if you could advise me on the very best brand of filter UV to use.I feel I need to get the best to get the most from the lens.Thanking you in anticipation
Using ND filters in Sony HX100V?
I have sony hx 100v camera. I need to use some ND filters in my camera. I have seen a kot of low cost filters in ebay. Please anybody suggest what size filtes should i buy for sony HX100V. Also should i need to buy any other thing to put these filters eg. adapters . If yes please suggest the size of that too.

Some techniques I want to do is take some photos in infer red and some Ultraviolet photos of some flowers. Canon 50mm FD lense filters?
I have recently bought a FD 50mm Canon lens and a variable ND filter, but upon receiving them I realised that the lens does not have a threaded front mount, like the ND filter has, so I have been searching the web to find the appropriate adapter that fits onto the 3 flap mount. I haven't found an actual adapter that I could use, so any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Is there a way to filter out the noise while charging ipod and playing music?
So I'm building Iphone and ipod docks and have had lots of success until I move up to more powerful amps. I've tried several brands of amps, different speakers, cables, ground loop filters, etc. The problem seems to come from inside the ipod doesn't happen with an iphone, only an ipod classic I can play audio through the charging port either via a split charging 3.5 cable or via a dock using separate charge and audio and it sounds perfect, no hum. Until...I plug in the charger to AC and I get wicked interference. Any suggestions?..I'm really stumped. You can charge and play out of the headphone out without this problem, so it seems to me that there isn't enough shielding inside the ipod itself.

Canon PowerShot G12 Wide Angle Lens and 52mm or 72mm Filters?
I own a Canon G12 and looking to purchase a wide angle lens to fit on it. I know Lensmate sells a variety of adapters filters lenses compatible to Canon G12 but i dont really understand how all this work. Theres an adapter A and adapter B, etc.. So which adapter do i need to put on to be able to fit a wide angle lens? What is the difference between a 52mm and 72mm filter? Can they both fit on my camera?
