i might be getting an ipod for my bday and im not sure what to engrave on it. any suggestions? also, do jewelry stores engrave ipods for free?i know the apple store does it free but im asking if jewelry stores do. and do they the jewelry stores have a limit on characters?
What kind of electromagnet I could use for very small applications for example a jewelry box?
My project constitutes of having a small box the size of a jewelry box with two doors cabinet style and it has to open when an electronic signal triggers some kind of relay. I had an idea of using electromagnets that when triggered, will demagnetize and " set free" the doors. Further jobs are to be done by mechanical hinges or customized springs to make these doors widely open.It would best help me if there is a commercially available electromagnets that could help me deal with this. Or else could there be someone so kind to help me creating my own? Thanks
What is economical digital that will take good & clear picture for jewelry?
i want to sell my handmade jewelry online but i do not want to break my bank to buy an expensive digital camera. what is an economical digital camera which is good enough to take good clear picture of jewelry in close up like ear ring, bracelet.my budget is around $200 and i want a small size one that i can bring it alone with my notebook computer. i want a big screen to view what i am going to take if possible. i know it may be a lot to ask for a little money, please give me some suggestion closer to my budget range. thanksi would also like to have a rechargeable lithium battery as my first digital camera burnt so much alikaline battery before.i see good and clear pictures on the books on the jewelries, are they taken from regular digital camera or professional camera

I am planning to shoot few thousand jewelry pieces and I have this wonderful Canon Rebel XTi camera, but don't know how to set it up to make it easy to work with. I need a camera to take close and sharp jewelry pics. Is KODAK Z981 good?
I need to take close, detailed, sharp jewelry pics. I've heard about KODAK Z981 with 26X zoom. Is the zoom to make the difference? With my 3X zoom camera I can't get anything better than blurred images when I get close. Thanks for the answers.

Improve digital picture on jewelry components w cannon A590is?
i try a few ways, F high and low value, flash and without flash, light and without light i use a milk jar to soften the light but i use a 60Watt light bulb, the effect is not recognisable. the use of flask is a little better where 1star on the crystal has a shinny star on the pictures but overall speaking it is not much different. overall experience my f value has to highest on bracelet and necklace, on the ear ring, it is hard as i have to hang the ear ring, and the ear ing is moving while it is hang, so it is hard to take a stil picture, if i lay them flat, it does not look too good. also, i add a light but the 60Watt light with the mill gallon cap softer the light seems to be no visual improvement to the pictures.i use the manual because the piece of jewelry is longer or shorter not like a coin, which always the same dimension, and also, the beads, crystal, color on the crystal, stone, glass, silver bead, are all different reflection to the light. anyone with real experience with this particular camera can advise more detail. my pictures can be seen in the website, on only the category of necklace, bracelet, ear ring only, other pictures are not taken by this camera. diyjewelrycomponents.com .check this picture diyjewelrycomponents.com products.php?category Necklace& id nl001and check this picturediyjewelrycomponents.com products.php?category Ear ring& id er034check this picturediyjewelrycomponents.com products.php?category Necklace& id nl005i do not know if it is because the ear ring is still moving while i take the picture . overall speaking the picture is ok but not great.do we have any room to improve either to improve my setting technique or put some more light with existing avaliable lights we have and milk gallon cover to soften the light?i do not want to buy another len until i make some money with this website. i have already spent $230 for camera, stand and a case already.
