What does D.I. mean as it pertains to musical equipment (pre-amps, direct bocx)?
What musical equipment do i need to get started?
I have a Roland Gaia SH 01, a Blue Yeti microphone, and an Epiphone EJ 160E John Lennon Acoustic Electric guitar...I have a standard desktop computer and i was wondering what else i would need to purchase to start recording music. Like, i dont have a way to plug the Gaia or the EJ 160E into the computer. The mic is a USB microphone and i have always just used it to record the music from the keyboard and guitar and guitar and then overdub the vocals in audacity but i want more of a professional sound. Is there like a PA i can buy for that? and any software i will need for editing?? I dont know much about it so let me know what you think.Thanks.
How much should I sell these two pieces of musical equipment for?
Hi all,I have two pieces of musical equipment I am selling and want to know what a fair price is to sell them.If you can, please quote in Euros as I live in Berlin, but I'll consider US dollar quotes, too.The first is a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 40 watt guitar amp. It's 6 years old and I've used it a lot but it still works perfectly and is in great shape.The second is a Ross 31 channel EQ. A nice piece of outboard gear that is much older I bought it used myself off a friend around 13 years ago but it also works great.I'm thinking 400 for the amp and 50 for the EQ.Thoughts?Thank you
Need advice on some musical equipment (piano and recording+software)?
Ok, so right now, I have a bit of a dumpy digital keyboard, and absolutely nothing to record with. I am considering upgrading, and am willing to put in quite a bit of money, but I want the most bang for my buck.From what I could find, if I wanted an acoustic piano, I could use a Behringer C 2 microphone, as it came with some pretty good reviews. However, I was curious as to whether these reviews were accurate, as I heard other aspects of the Behringer name are actually not up to par with Yamaha and other famous companies, and if this applies to the microphone portion of the name brand.Second, if I DID get those microphones, does it come with the software to instantly upload it onto the computer, possible add a video for youtube and such, or will I have to buy download a new program earlier? If so, a few recommended programs would be nice.Now, for digital pianos, this I have no idea on. I figured if I wanted to kill two birds with one stone, I could simply buy a Behringer digital keyboard, as they looked to be of nice quality. Despite this, further research led me to believe that this is the exact portion of Behringer which performed quite poorly, being of sucky quality like I said though, I heard the mics were top notch . So, I was wondering, if I wanted a digital keyboard, what would be the best brand name and model, and why should I consider it? Quality is key by the way.Also, if it's a digital keyboard, and allows it to plug into the computer, I wouldn't need to buy microphones in the first place, am I correct? I could simply use a USB cord, with or without a third party program to record, and use it as I want throughout the web.So, I know this is a complicated question worth much less than your time, but if you want me to sum it up Microphone PC Windows XP or Vista Recording Program Possibility of Uploading to Youtube Digital Piano Brand Do I Still Need A Program With A Digital? Costs And anything else you may want to add, feel free. The more you rant about this stuff, the better. Tried looking it up on the web, and it would make me feel a lot less overwhelmed getting it from actual consumers.

On the album cover of Q Tip's newest album " The Renaissance" he is holding a machine in front of his face. I am looking to find out what the name of this machine is. I know it has to do with music but I can not recall what its name is. If some one can help that would be great Thanks
