For outdoor sports, and birding... Lens choice?
I use Primarily a d90 body, and am wondering which combo would be more versatile for birding, outdoor sports, etc... an AF S 300mm f 4, with a 1.4x TC, or an AF S VR 70 200mm f 2.8, with a 1.7x TC. My budget would allow for either one, but it is a fairly hard decision. I usually shoot off of a monopod. Thanks for any input

My brother and i like to snowboard a lot during the year. We are looking to buy a camera for the use on the mountain. So the camera has to be durable and can withstand a fall or two into the snow. We also like to take scenic photos on hikes. we are both beginner to intermediate photographers. I would really like something that can take multiple shots back to back. What do you recommend?
Canon EOS Rebel XSi 450D plus lens outdoor sports? ?
I just bought a Canon EOS Rebel XSi 450D, 12.2 Mega pixel but it still has to come in the mail because I live overseas. Anyways, I'm in yearbook at my high school, and I'll need to be covering some night time sports. like football these are the lenses I also have coming I know, they're basic Tamron 28 80mm f 3.5 5.6 Wide Angle Aspherical Autofocus LensTamron 75 300mm f 4.0 5.6 LD Zoom Telephoto Macro Autofocus LensCanon Normal EF 50mm f 1.8 II Autofocus LensWide Angle Autofocus Lens2x Telephoto Lens and of course a flash and tripod Will I be able to take good, clear, high quality non blurry, action shots in the dark? Looking 4 camera lense 4 DSLR Nikon D50 2 take in/outdoor sports pics any suggestions 2 find good 1 cheap?
The lenses I have only work well in bright sun light and I need one to use indoors and on cloudy days. It needs to have a full lense that lets a lot a light in but I don't have a lot of money to spend on one. Amazon and EBAY were no help. I really want one that goes up to 300 or 400 zoom if at all possible.
What channels are the outdoor sports package channels on dish network?
I just paid 3 dollars for them but can't find them. They include ERNEST and a couple other channels.
Settings for shooting outdoor sports on a Nikon D40?
I received a Nikon D40 with both the 18 55mm lens and the 55 200mm VR lens as a gift last year. I shoot baseball and softball games both outdoors and during the day or early evening and usually use the 55 200mm lens with no flash as I'm shooting from the sidelines. I've tried Nikon's " sports" setting but am not happy with the quality photos are usually blurred or it takes so long to re focus I totally miss my shot so I have ended up shooting on automatic... I'm still not 100 % satisfied with how the photos are turning out and I know there have got to be some manual settings I can use, but I haven't figured out the best combination. Any suggestions? Tips and tricks?Any help is greatly appreciated
Ice hockey/outdoor sports (snowboarding) lense for Nikon d40?
So I've decided to buy a nikon d40. since i haven't seen it or tried it ever i'm not sure if i need to buy a seperate lense from the 18 55 for action shots in indoor arenas air canada centre community arenas and outdoors in the winter for snowboard shots. so my choices are the Nikon AF S 70 300mm f4.5 5.6 VR and the Nikon AF S DX 55 200mm f4 5.6 VR. are there any other suggestions. and no lenses over $600. which one is the better deal? and since i'm a beginner, do i really need the 70 300? also, i'll be taking regular friend photos and such, so can i use these lenses to take those pictures or will i have to go back to the 18 55?since i'm buying my camera tomorrow at blacksphoto i'm not sure if i should buy a camera and the lense at the same time or try out the camera with it's kit lense and then if i'm not satisifed, i buy a new lense?does blacksphoto give discounts for buying a camera along with a lense? i'm going to the store in etobicoke.
