Old dish TV satellite ...conversion and uses?
I cancelled me dish tv account a couple years ago and still have the small satellite on my roof with the cable running into my living room. Right now I just have basic free local antenna channels about 12 in total ..... Is there any way that I could hook up the old dish satellite to a converter of some sort and get at least a few more channels on my TV ? ....the old cable is laying next to my TV ..it's a shame I can't utilize it for something. Thank You for any help
What satellite is currently used for Dish Network HD?
We are moving and want to put together our own pole for Dish Network. What satellite is currently installed for their HD package? Is it the 1000.2 dish or the Super Dish? Need to find out what diameter of pole we need to mount it.

How do satellite technicians work?
I did a application via internet last night and got a call from them this morning for a phone interview. They said they'll call me back before a certain time to let me know what's what. My question is, my location is not very big, but how far do technicians have to travel out to do work and what is the ideal amount of places they have to go out and do each day. I wanted to ask the lady over the phone but that probably would've ruined my chance at getting the job. A guy lives up the street works for Direct TV and he does around 3 a day and doesn't go out that far.

i got a new tv, and hooked up my free to air box, it worked fine for about 6 hours, then all of a sudden the screen went blank and a message popped up saying no signal. all the channels are gone, i tried to re scan the satellite but nothing came up. any suggestions as to what the problem is? is it the new tv or what? any advice appreciated thanks i just tried the box in a different tv, and it does not work in that either so its not to do with the telly if that helps
Satellite Internet and real time games?
Hello I recently moved and the area I moved to doesn't have access to high speed dsl Internet, so my parents decided to get satellite Internet instead of dial up . WildBlue to be specific I've been reading some reviews online that have to do with playing real time games, such as maplestory on satellite Internet and I'm kinda worried, from what I've read it seems like playin real time games is terrible on satellite Internet, as that it lags alot and there are delays to everything you do. Can anyone that has satellite Internet and plays games on it tell me their expireience? I would appreciate that a ton.Also I have two desk tops in my house and an xbox that are always being used for Internet purposes, this satellite Internet that were getting apparently has a data plan on it as well, kinda like a phone, and you can't go over the limit that they set. The data plan we got was 15 gbs a month, just wondering how big this acctually is and if it will support my gaming and computer uses.Thanks alot
