I am going to start a video production business for recording events such as pageants and weddings and I would like some advice on the best camera to buy for under $2000. preferably around $1000 or less if possible It would be great if it has white balance controls and any other features that would make the recording an event a lot easier. i filmed a movie on my friends mac notebook bc i didnt have the connection cord for my camera to hook up to the computer and now idk how to edit a movie on this computer and i would prefer to do it on a windows. Is there any way to transfer that. Like can i burn it to a cd and then open it in nero?

I want to start making movies videos before i start that major in college so that i get a feel for editing, fliming, and production. Im not looking to spend a ton of money, but what is an above average camera that is not too expensive? Since i am just starting i dont know many names of editing software. i only know Pinnalce because that is what my friend has. Just looking for answers.
Using a digital camera for video production?
I'm shopping for a new digital camera and camera after leaving BOTH in a taxi . But, my question is in regards to mid range cameras that also record video. I'm debating whether I will be happy with just buying a nicer camera with video option as opposed to buying both the camera and camcorder separately.Like this Nikon below tigerdirect.com applications SearchTools item details.asp?EdpNo 5705752& CatId 3625It records in HD video. Has anyone used a camera like this for video recording production as well? I'm not a pro obviously so I don't need high end equipment, but I am wondering how a camera like this would work for shooting extended HD video. Would it be just as good as having an HD Camcorder?I previously had a Sony camera that recorded SD video, but once in video mode the lens position was fixed you couldn't zoom without stopping the recording. Is this still an issue with cameras?
What should i get for my first video production equipment?
I'm 13 and I don't have a computer or a video camera. For the best editing but also easy should I get a MAC or a pc. Also what should my first camera be. My budget would probably be 200 dollars for a camera. I would like it to have an optional external microphone thing so u can plug in some sort of microphone. No crappy cameras but it doesn't have to be amazing cause I have a small budget.if i do get a mac though, the camera may need to be on a lower budget cause those mac book pros cost a lot. i have the money but im not willing to spend $1,400 or something like that. i might as well get the best camera out there and use my home computer that is super slow.
If I'm looking for a video production job and they ask for a reel, what exactly does that contain?
Do they want like a DVD with a menu of my work? Or just a DVD with one example? Or am I completely off track?

not your average home video camera but like a good one to record videos.. im only in highschool though so i dont neeed a 7000 dollar profesional one just somehting that will do good for highschool... around 4 to 500 dollars or less? thanks

How do we make a basement video production studio?
My friend has a pretty large basement in his house, and recently purchased Final Cut Express for his 2.0GHz Dual Core iMac, and we wanted to make a cheap less than $1000 production studio. Together, my friends and I have two decent mini DV camcorders, and I have a 2.4GHz iMac and Final Cut Express as well. We want to do some chroma keying, and some editing and publishing. What equipment will we need and do you have any recommendations where we can get everything? Thanks in advance
What is a split mix when laying a video production to tape?
I realize this is a pretty remedial question in the broadcast world, but I never handle tape layoffs, and I was told to make sure I lay off the split mixes as well when laying some completed videos to tape. What is a split mix? Is that when the soundbytes, nat sounds, and music are all on different tracks?

Hihi I am moving from video production with a standard consumer digital videocamera to a HD videocamera. A Sony Z5, to be precise.What do I need to look out for?What do I need to do that is different to filming with a standard videocamera than I do with a HD one? Will lighting be much trickier and more important now that HD captures much more details?How about editing? Will I still be working with AVI or is there any other format that I will be working with? Hi, I was reading an article on great businesses to start. I came across one that mention a videotaping services or video production. I was just wandering if anyone has ever had an video production or videotaping type of business before, or has worked in this field. Is this a great business to start, and does it really manner on which camcorder you want to use. I am planning on buying a camcorder in the 500 dollar range So I need to know if it manners on the camcorder.Thanks for the answer Lare, but the camcorders you listed are out of my budget. I wanted to buy the Canon hf21, It seems like a nice camcorder to me.
