Are there "lemon laws" regarding LCD tvs? What protects consumers?
On 9 3 06 I purchased a Philips 37" lcd tv. 45 days later it wouldn't turn on. Circuit City said I couldn't return it to them past their 30 day return policy Philips directed me to an authorized repair center. They took the tv for 3 weeks said the small signal board needed to be replaced. Just got it back. It turned on but now ambilight won't turn on. 2 days go by and now the tv won't turn on again. I'm making payments on a defective product. I want to return it and get my money back. Isn't there a law NJ to protect the consumer? This TV cost me $1700.
Is there a lemon law for faulty appliances?
We bought a brand new Frigidaire washer and dryer front load set 4 2 05 as well as a four year extended warranty. So far we have had to have both of them worked on more than a dozen times. The service company that they keep sending out takes several months to get the parts in and then another several months to get the RIGHT PARTS in. Even then it doesn't work so the warranty company sent another service man and it took three weeks for him to fix it and it only worked for two loads of clothes. Is there a way to sue Electrolux or Frigidaire?
Please help asap!! Important question dealing with craigslist/lemon law/cell phone?
Okay, first off I live in Florida. In Pinellas County. I posted an ad on craigslist to sell my Verizon Blackberry smartphone. This guy offered me money then asked out of curiousity why i didnt want the phone anymore. i told him it was under a roommates name and she didnt pay the bill so the service got cut off. he bought the phone with this knowledge and i have proof in a text message that i told him this information. now he is threatening to call the police. and mentioned something about a lemon law. well i tried looking it up and to what ive seen there is no lemon law for cellphones. then he said its in the fine print in craigslist and when i looked at craigslist it says they do not offer 'buyer protection'. he said its a fraud because the phone doesnt work. but the PHONE works perfectly. i told him i sold him a PHONE not a service plan. i did not at ANY point tell him he could reactivate this phone with verizon. is there any legal action he can take? i asked 2 friends, and they said no.but i wanted to ask a broader range of people.
What types of products do lemon laws cover in Illinois?
I have had to replace my motorola rival cell phone at the verizon store 4 times and I'm about to go in a 5th time to get it replaced again. They have given me refurbished phones and also brand new phones but they keep telling me that no matter how many times they replace it they can never give me a different type of phone. I know there have been lemon laws passed by the Illinois house about this issue but I would like to know if there have been lemon laws passed that cover cell phones. Can anyone help?
